DELEGATES VISIT THE HOME OF A MAQUILADORA WORKER
LEARNING ABOUT MEXICAN LABOR LAW
SOCIAL TIME WITH THE WORKERS TO HEAR THEIR STORIES

The educational trip (Fall 2005) involved sending students from Professor Arriola’s seminar, Women, Law and the Global Economy down to Austin, Texas for a 3 day weekend experience. They met with working women who are actively fighting against exposure to toxicity in the workplace and for better terms and conditions of employment in a U.S. owned maquiladora, an example of the global factories operating under the NAFTA.
