WHAT: As we prepare to celebrate Mother’s Day in the United States, almost 35,000 people — 33,843 Palestinians and 1,139 Israelis — have been killed in Gaza including over 14,350 innocent children (as of April 2024, more since the last two night’s incursion into Gaza).
Mothers and others cannot look away. At the Texas State Capitol on this Thursday at 10:00 AM, participants of the Mother’s Day in Gaza Quilt Project explain how people can support the global call for a permanent ceasefire to stop the killing of innocent children.
At today’s event the Gaza Quilt Project will announce the first of three calls for quilts that this project will make from US Mother’s Day, May 12, 2024 through Palestinian Mother’s Day on or about March 21, 2025. Funds raised by the Gaza Quilt Project will be directed to the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund.
