THE NATION MOBILIZES AGAINST I.C.E. TERROR

by Elvia R. Arriola and Donna J. Blevins, Board Members.

On January 20, 2026, less than two weeks after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent shot and killed a U.S. citizen at a protest demonstration, and on the one-year anniversary of the installation of Mr. Trump in the White House, thousands of citizens across the country mobilized in “ICE OUT FOR GOOD” marches and rallies. Participants interviewed at the rallies repeatedly share stories of witnessing ICE “police” engaging daily in unconscionable and illegal domestic terror. Conduct such as breaking into houses without judicial warrants (illegal search and seizure against the 4th Amendment), capturing and detaining US citizens, dragging people out of cars and homes into inclement weather, beating subdued detainees and using excessive force during arrests, spraying chemical irritants and otherwise assaulting peaceful observers, among many other very concerning actions. In custody, detainees report being denied medical care and access to their families.

Americans all over the country are not taking these actions quietly.  Opposition to ICE tactics is occurring in every state in the union, and is increasing.  Protests against this assault on human beings, our nation’s Constitution, and our fundamental values of freedom and liberty are cropping up everywhere.

Below is a list, state-by-state, of opposition activities occurring nationwide.  Click on the name of a state to see either news articles or live social media recordings of protests in towns and cities across America, even in states viewed as being very much aligned with the MAGA anti-immigrant agenda.

Also listed are the names of organizations within a particular state offering support and services to those persons and families impacted by Trump’s mass deportation program.
