DOES DUE PROCESS OF THE LAW APPLY TO THE REMOVAL BY IMMIGRATION AND CUSTOMS ENFORCEMENT (ICE) OF NON-CITIZENS?

Of course it does.

What is due process?   Due process requires just and fair treatment of everyone, regardless of background or immigration status, if their life, freedom, or property is at risk.

Ever since Donald Trump acted on his campaign process to launch a mass deportation program, immigration authorities continue to arrest daily non-citizens, harass through racial profiling U.S. citizens, and intimidate and detain (jail) people who have been in a process of legalizing their status with the help of lawyers at hearings scheduled before immigration courts.

ICE behavior toward non-citizens, and the deployment of military force (e.g., tear gas against citizens) exercising their right of free speech under the First Amendment is a blatant disregard for due process of the law.*

Below are journalism articles covering the development of these constitutional crises in the metropolitan area of Chicago,lIllinois.
