In 2018 the U.S. Government introduced the Zero Tolerance Policy and told border patrol officials to separate children and even babies from legal asylum seeker parents. RAICES has produced a documentary, The Fight, in which they follow the civil rights lawyers who have worked on heartbreaking cases like Ms. L. where a federal court agreed that separating children from their parents at the border is cruel and unconstitutional.  The government continues to hurt children and families through its separation policies.  The film release will focus on other human rights issues addressed by both the ACLU and RAICES attorneys and will serve as a fundraiser to assist families needing help in detention centers. The report, “The U.S. Government Kidnapped My Son ” is available here. “The Fight” is scheduled for release August 1, 2020.
